The Department of Economics is a scientific and practical department specializing in teaching modern economic knowledge and ideas. The department provides the opportunity for students to study in depth the theoretical foundations of economic knowledge accumulated and systematized in world practice, the main concepts, categories, laws, principles of economics, their features and mechanisms of action, as well as the skills of their application in practice.
Classes are taught by experienced teachers and business representatives using interactive methods. Students also have the opportunity to take part in trainings and internships organized jointly with leading companies to improve their practical skills.
The department implements the modern educational programs aimed at conducting innovative research and training students as qualified specialists in the field of economics and the global economy.
Familiarization of students, studying in the field of 60310100 - economics (on branches and spheres), with theoretical knowledge and methods of economic observation formed at different stages of development and in different countries; to assist students mastering the methodological techniques necessary for logical understanding of the content of economic phenomena and processes; It is necessary to instill in them the basic principles of national ideology based on the achievements of economic development.

- creation of a modern management system in organizations and enterprises, optimization of organizational structures, increasing management efficiency, motivation of work processes;
- ensuring the economic activities of firms and organizations, as well as the management of enterprises of various forms of ownership, research institutions and local government bodies;

Students, studying in the field of 60411900 - World economy and international economic relations (on regions and types of activity), will apply in practice the principles and theoretical foundations of the development of the world economy; be able to determine effective areas of cooperation in the field of international division of labor, international trade and international movement of production factors; have the skills to analyze and forecast indicators of world economic development; determine the patterns of development of the world economy; the goal is to analyze and summarize the indicators characterizing the economy of countries of the world, as well as the formation of the basic principles of national ideology based on the analysis of economic, social and organizational indicators characterizing the international movement of production factors.
Students, majoring in World economy and international economic relations, can pursue careers in the following areas
