The department was established on the basis of the decision of the meeting of the university council No. 3 on December 28, 2022.

 A total of 47 professors and teachers, including 2 professors, 6 associate professors, 4 senior teachers, and 35 teachers work in the department. From January 4, 2023, Imomov Elyorjon Tokhtasinovich has been working as the head of the department.

The main tasks of the department's team are to prepare advanced bachelors and masters in foreign languages, including English, Russian, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese, as well as conducting educational methodological and scientific research work. Students of 3 undergraduate courses and 2 master's specializations study at the Department of Foreign Philology.
