About the faculty

The Faculty of Philology includes the following programs: "Uzbek Language and Literature", "Native Language and Literature (Russian Language and Literature)", "Philology and Language Teaching (English)", "Philology and Language Teaching (Arabic)", "Philology and Language Teaching (Korean)", "Philology and Language Teaching (Chinese)", "Philology and Language Teaching (Turkish)", "Philology and Language Teaching (Japanese)", and "Journalism (by fields)".

In the credit-module system, the proportion of elective courses is planned separately. Furthermore, it is aimed at deeply developing students' professional skills related to their specialization.

The Faculty of Philology is one of the key faculties that prepares qualified bachelors who are educated in the spirit of patriotism, possess deep pedagogical knowledge and skills aimed at fostering a sense of involvement among youth, have mastered foreign languages to communicate the social, spiritual, and political reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan to various segments of the population, and can serve as examples to young people through their spiritual character.

The programs "Uzbek Language and Literature", "Native Language and Literature (Russian Language and Literature)", "Philology and Language Teaching (English)", "Philology and Language Teaching (Arabic)", "Philology and Language Teaching (Korean)", "Philology and Language Teaching (Chinese)", "Philology and Language Teaching (Turkish)", "Philology and Language Teaching (Japanese)", and "Journalism (by fields)" within the Faculty of Philology cover a complex set of issues in the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and sectoral research institutes, public administration bodies, mass media, publishing houses, and state and non-state institutions of general secondary, specialized secondary, and vocational education.

The professional activities of bachelors in the field of education include:

– Teaching the main and second foreign languages in relevant educational institutions of general secondary, specialized secondary, and vocational education systems;

– Working as a cabinet head, methodologist, and equivalent positions in educational institutions and ministries that provide education in relevant fields, their sectoral departments, and institutions;

– Activities in intensive foreign language training courses;

– Working as a translator in various state and non-state enterprises and organizations;

– Working as a junior researcher in research institutes in the humanities;

– Working in appropriate positions in media organizations;

– Working in local self-government bodies and local centers of spirituality and enlightenment.
