Today, on the third day of the congress, the results of the "Impact Rankings – 2025" international ranking were announced.
Alfraganus University has been included in the "Times Higher Education" international ranking agency's "Impact Rankings – 2025"!
Remarkably, despite being established only three years ago, Alfraganus University participated in this ranking for the first time and achieved a place in the TOP-1000 global ranking in 8 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The following results were recorded across all Sustainable Development Goals:

- Zero Hunger – 601–800
- Good Health and Well-being – 1001–1500
- Quality Education – 1501
- Gender Equality – 1001–1500
- Clean Water and Sanitation – 801–1000
- Affordable and Clean Energy – 801–1000

For reference, 2,526 higher education institutions from 130 countries participated in this international ranking.
As one of Uzbekistan’s leading non-state higher education institutions, Alfraganus University has made rapid strides in the international arena in a short time, achieving significant results in two prestigious rankings—UI GreenMetric and Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025—for the first time.
Achievements in UI GreenMetric – 2024
At the end of 2024, Alfraganus University participated for the first time in the UI GreenMetric international ranking, which evaluates global universities on environmental sustainability and “green” development, achieving the following results:
- Among global universities: 872nd place
- Among Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions: 27th place
These results demonstrate the university’s commitment to environmental responsibility, energy efficiency, transportation infrastructure, and sustainable campus policies.

Global Sustainable Development Congress 2025: Active Participation in the International Forum in Istanbul
From June 16–19, 2025, the Global Sustainable Development Congress 2025, organized by Times Higher Education, was held in Istanbul, Turkey. Universities, ministries, and international organizations from over 100 countries participated, including Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, as well as leading higher education institutions.
A notable highlight for Uzbekistan is that, among the 9 higher education institutions participating in the congress, Alfraganus University was the only non-state university. This underscores the university’s growing prestige not only nationally but also in the international education landscape.
Why Are These Rankings Important?
THE Impact Rankings measure universities’ contributions to addressing global challenges, including climate change, equality, healthcare, and educational advancements.
UI GreenMetric evaluates universities’ approaches to environmental policies, “green” campus initiatives, and sustainable infrastructure.
Participation in such rankings not only attracts the attention of the international community but also opens new opportunities for academic activities, investments, and attracting international students.
